It is an important aspect of the insurance cover that claims are paid properly and on time by the underwriters.
To allow us to follow up that important aspect, we have within our organisation a separate Claims Department. Our service to the Shipowners is total, which means that it includes the claims side.
Claims broking is a pro-active skill. A qualified claims broker can exercise influence at every stage of the development of a claim. Willis is committed to maximising that influence to the best advantage of its clients.
Our commitment is derived from an acute awareness that when clients purchase insurance, one of the key services they are buying is the ability to negotiate the settlement of their claims in the shortest time possible. This means that we act as the Shipowner's consultant in all insurance related problems as to what to do after an incident. We further advice on the wording on special clauses in the insurance conditions, what items to include in the general account and how to present a claim under the insurances.
On behalf of our clients we;
In addition to the general claims work attached to any marine insurance cover, the Claims Department will assist the owner in finding the insurance company or club most suitable to take on the assignment as the leading underwriter. Our claims department will also assist our clients in general insurance related questions, in crew- and officer seminars with speeches and/or arranging workshops. |
