Willis Appoints David Shalders as Director of Group Operations & Technology
London, UK, October 1, 2013 –
Willis Group Holdings, the global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed David Shalders to
the role of Group Operations & Technology Director, responsible for the company’s information technology, operations, real
estate and change management functions.
Shalders will serve as a member of the Willis Group Operating Committee and will work with business
leaders across the company to develop efficient operational strategies and ensure that Willis has the systems
in place to support continued growth.
Shalders joins Willis in November from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group where he served for over
a decade in senior operations and IT roles, most recently as Global Chief Operating Officer for
Global Banking and Markets. He also led the division’s regulatory response to Basel 3. Prior to
that, Shalders led the Group’s integration with ABN Amro and held roles as Head of London
and Asia Operations and Head of Derivative Operations for NatWest.
Shalders will succeed Interim Group Operations and Technology Director, Sally-Ann Hibberd, who retires from Willis in December
to build a non-executive portfolio.

Shalders holds a Masters degree in Geography from Cambridge University and a Masters degree in Computer Science
from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
