    Willis Group Strengthens Claim and Risk Control Operations with Appointment of Dorien Smithson

    New York, NY, April 24, 2008 – Willis Group Holdings (NYSE: WSH), the global insurance broker today announced the appointment of Dorien Smithson to Executive Vice President, Willis Americas. Smithson will lead the North American Claim and Risk Control Practice, as well as pre and post loss services for Willis clients.

    Commenting on the appointment, Don Bailey, CEO of Willis North America, said, “There is nothing more important to Willis than mitigating potential claims against our clients and getting claims paid on a timely and professional basis. Dorien brings 29 years of experience leading both domestic and international underwriting and service businesses for major insurance companies. Her role leading claim, risk control and risk management technology in this practice will harness Willis’ extensive technical and consulting resources to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.”

    Smithson joins Willis from ESIS Inc., a subsidiary of ACE USA, where she was Senior Vice President, National Sales and Marketing, and Construction Practice Executive. Prior to that position, she was Regional Executive Officer at ACE USA’s New York Region. Smithson also held key executive leadership positions at Liberty Mutual where she was Regional Managing Director National Markets for Northeast and Senior Vice President of Continental Risk Management Eastern Region. She began her career at American International Group where she worked from 1979 to 1992. She earned a degree in Marketing Management from Baruch College in New York.
